The law on fire alarms has changed. All Scottish homes must have interlinked fire and smoke alarms fitted by spring this year.
If you don’t yet have a new interlinked fire and smoke alarm system fitted in your home, you must contact us as soon as possible.
Why do I need it?
Fire can happen to anyone at anytime.
Having this new fire and smoke alarm system in your home can alert you to a fire in your home or in your block, and save lives.
Make an appointment today and we’ll fit them for you
If you are a QCHA tenant and don’t yet have the new-style fire and smoke alarm system fitted in your home, it’s very important that we get access to your home.
Get in touch with us today to arrange an appointment and we’ll fit them for you.
What does the new system include?
Every home must have:
• one smoke alarm in the living room or the room you use most
• one smoke alarm in every hallway or landing
• one heat alarm in the kitchen
All smoke and heat alarms should be mounted on the ceiling and be interlinked.
Interlinked means if one goes off, they all go off, so you will always hear an alarm wherever you are in your home.
How do I arrange a fitting?
You can arrange a fire and smoke alarm fitting appointment by calling our Business Support Team on 0141 589 7444. Or email us on contactus@qcha.org.uk
Our estate caretaker or handyperson team members will fit the new system for you.
